Significance of Proportional Pinch Valve

A pinch valve is a type of valve that opens or closes the flow of fluid without allowing the valve body to come into contact with the flowing medium. As the name suggests, the fluid path control is based on the compression of an elastic tube such as silicone, PU or others. The main advantage of using a pinch valve pneumatic over a gate valve or piston valve is that the valve body is not exposed to aggressive flow media. Therefore, the useful life and in terms of hygiene will be much higher. There are many types of holding valves on the market. In this article we will introduce the three types of solenoid pinch valves along with their advantages & disadvantages of clamping valves. and summarizes it with what you should consider before making your decision.

Proportional Pinch Valve Type

1. Electronic clamping valve:

(APV series) is a kind of solenoid operated clamping valve. When the solenoid coil is energized the piston will retract (in the normally closed position) or attract (in the normally open position) when using the pinch valve pneumatic Plastic tubing must have low tolerances (eg silicone tubing soft) and the inner tube pressure should not exceed 30 psi. The pneumatic pinch valve manufacturers this valve by considering the requirements of the user and one of the advantages is the compact size and low power consumption.

2. Pneumatic Pinch Valve:

As the name suggests, the piston that opens or squeezes (closes) the flexible plastic tube is actuated by air pressure. The system must provide a pneumatic source to use this type of pinch valve pneumatic. No electricity is required and we offer NO or NC versions. The benefit is higher compression. Therefore, compatible hoses can be very durable, such as silicone or durometer braided hoses, up to 85 Shore A or even high pressure in the hose.

3. Proportional Electric Pinch Valve:

The proportional pinch valve pneumatic uses a linear stepping motor to position the pistons in proportion to the amount of electrical input signal. An external controller is required to transmit electrical signals to the stepper motor and induce motion. For example, with a 0-10V control signal, the 5V signal places the piston midway between the tube channels. Target position is highly repeatable and highly accurate. Due to the characteristics of stepper motors, this type of valve is used for online flow control or online pressure control without contact with the flow medium.

Operating Principle

The pinch valve pneumatic uses an elastic hose. Forcing the pipes together creates a seal that is equivalent to the permeability of the pipe. The pneumatically actuated clamping valve consists of a flexible reinforced rubber hose. One of a kind and a two plug tube end cap (or flange) on an air actuated Proportional valve solenoid Rubber hoses are typically press fit and centered at the end of the casing with plug caps.

The pneumatic pinch valve flow control closes as soon as pressurized air is supplied to the body. When the air supply is interrupted and the amount of air is depleted the flexible rubber hose will start to open due to the force of the process flow.
